Abstract
The "Copenhagen School" of Old Testament studies is compared to the rise of "literary" methods in Biblical scholarship since the 1970'es as two examples of a dissatisfaction with traditional "historical-critical" research. The new approaches are deemed neither more nor less "critical" than older methods, however, only differing in focus.
