Excitation-emission fluorescence spectroscopy with single molecule sensitivity using a common-path interferometer

Abstract

We demonstrate the use of a simple and highly stable common-path interferometer based on birefringence to measure fluorescence excitation-emission maps with sensitivity down to the single molecule level via a Fourier-transform approach.
