Abstract

Tasso's epic poem about the first crusade is related to contemporary Turkish threats; it was influential all over Europe, in Dukrovnik Gundulic wrote an imitation ono the Polish-Turkish war and the death of Osman II, in Hungary Zrinyi wrote about the fall of Sziget with a view of national unty in the war against the turks.
