    Abstract

    This is a story of a chemical compound called TBT (Tributyltin). Since the mid-20th century, this chemical product has found its way into the global seas in various concentrations. The formula of TBT is well-known by now and its use is banned. Its effects still linger, and I first encountered TBT in the harbor of St Thomas on the US Virgin Islands as a cause for hormone disorder in snails....
