Abstract
SUPERNATUR is the third and final volume of a trilogy on European landscape architecture and urbanism in the 20th century and on landscape architecture’s spectacular ability to address the complex challenges of our time. The relationship between humankind and nature constitutes a fundamental axis in any cultural epoch; in landscape architecture the interpretation of and dealing with this is obviously essential. The trilogy is built on the premise that landscape architecture’s genuine modes of expression represent a key to and reveal insights into our attitudes towards nature but also to culture, the good city and the good life.
