Barbarians in the Norteh - the Greatest Concentration of Roman Weaponry in Europe.

Abstract

Presentation and discussion af the great amount of weaponry in the Danish bogs and lakes dated to the Roman Iron Age (0-400 AD). The paper discuss the character of the weaponofferings, the Roman imported weaponry in the offerings, the influence at the Germanic weapons from the Roman army, and possible explanatons of the offerings. Furthermore the structure of the germanic army is discussed as well as the origin areas of the armies, there activity and relationto the general picture of the period.
