Abstract
Patients with severe traumatic injuries occasionally undergo damage control surgery. This paper highlights some of the perioperative anaesthesiological considerations. Although damage control is often used as a surgical term, it is crucial that personnel involved in the parallel resuscitation of the patient have a common understanding of the challenges that are usually present during damage control surgery.
