Abstract

One of the most significant features of urbanization is land use/cover change, which caused a series of eco-environment effects. We analyzed pressures of land use /cover, water environmental effects, soil environmental effects, landscape pattern effects, carbon emissions effects and ecosystem services effects. These results shows that current studies always just explored urbanization pressures and driving forces based on case studies, while analysis on internal mechanisms are inadequate. In addition, most current studies focused on effects of land use/cover change with single scale, and are lack of multi-scales coupling researches with long time series and multi-factors. Finally, we proposed that sustainable urban land change sciences (URB-LCS) should be developed based on the tele-coupling combines "Temporal-Spatial-Quantity- Order-Structure” with the special urban characteristics.
