Primary fields of research

My primary research area is within the field of Social Epidemiology and concerns how social and socioeconomic factors influence health, use of healthcare services, and mortality in old age. Within this field of study, I have a profound interest in the impact of intergenerational relationships for health among older adults where I try to identify how the socioeconomic resource of adult children may influence their parents’ health and access to healthcare in old age.
