PhD administration

Member of the board  The Danish Research School of Psychology (2000-2008).

Responsible for the administration of PhD courses at the department (2008-2010).

Chairman for different sorts of PhD committees (PhD coordinator, PhD manager, head of Phd program at the department) (1995-2010):

Each year performance and development review with each PhD student (45 – 50 in 2010). Manage revision of study program and homepage, each year producing different statistics and tables to the faculty, yearly arrange information meetings for the new PhD students, each year a seminar for all PhD students at the department, responsible for communication with applicants for PhD scholarship, responsible for daily based communication with all PhD students regarding, applications for funding, problems with their supervisors etc., participation in Graduate School of Social Sciences, signing all PhD students half year reports, participation in the departments management team (meetings 10-14 in each semester), manage PhD programme committee,  meetings in PhD programme committee, take decision on each PhD students application for financial support (courses, participation in research activities, including stays at other and sometimes foreign environments,  statistical consultant, software, hardware etc.).

Current research

Ontologisk bestemmelse af det psykiske i relation til det biologiske og det samfundsmæssige. Videre arbejde med udvikling af en niveau- og emergensteori, som kan gestalte disse sfærers specificitet og evolutionsmæssige kontinuitet.
Almenpsykologisk beskrivelse af psykens opståen i ontogenesen, herunder specielt forholdet mellem krop og psyke, relation, amodal perception, skemaer m.m. I forlængelse heraf en be-stemmelse af socialisationsbegrebet og den implicitte struktur i forholdet mellem biologi, psykologi og sociologi.

Eksperimentel undersøgelse af etableringen af tværmodalitet hos børn, specielt forholdet mellem motorik og lyd. Foretages sammen med Susanne Harder og Mette Væver i regi af Center for Spædbørn.

Research: brief description

(1) In relation to two grants were I am PI – Motor dialogue and motor intention (Danish Council for Independent Research | Culture and Communication) and Exploration in infants play (LEGO foundation) one of the primary targets is to describe the construction of sense/meaning and the relation between the modalities (sensemodalities, affects, language) and analyzing the motor modality as meaning production.

(2)Scientific ontology and epistemology – theory of levels, reductionism andemergence. My ph.d. in biology were a theoretical analysis of this theme in biology, physics and neuropsychology. Since the field has been expanded to include scientific methods – quantitative and qualitative; statistics and definition of variables; complexity. In relation to the grant relating to motor intentionality and motor dialogue we have a large amount of kinematic data which allow a “statistical experimentation” – analyzing different statistical methods processing the same data.

(3) A large part of my production has been in history of science. I think the historical development of science (psychology and its border disciplines:  psychiatry, neurosciences, philosophy) can be used to analyzing a series of defining elements for research. 

Current research projects

Motor intentionality and motor dialogue – kinematics and phenomenological description of sense/meaning production in the pre-verbal infant.

Exploration in 1 – 5 years infants play.

Studies in philosophy of science: eclecticism; relations between statistical computation and definition of variables; history of science.

Humanomics: Mapping the dynamics of humanities.

Supervising nine ongoing ph.d. projects  (motor intentionality, motor dialogue, exploration and play, cancer research, cognitive semantics).
