Sandra holds a M.Sc. in landscape management (2006) from the Royal Agricultural and Vetenary University. She is employed as a Teaching Assistant Professor at the Center of Competence for Outdoor Recreation and Nature Interpretation at the Forest and Landscape College in Nødebo. She is also part of the research group Nature, Green Spaces and Outdoor Recreation in the Section of Landscape Architecture and Planning, Rolighedsvej 23, Frederiksberg.

In june 2015 Sandra defended her PhD thesis "Outdoor recreation and ethnicity - seen in a Danish adolescents perspective". Her research focus has been on ethnic minorities' outdoor recration and nature based integration. Further she is interested in peoples' relation to and perception of nature.  Since 2017 Sandra has studied volunteering in nature management in Denmark.
