Short presentation
Dr. Roger Hearn has held senior leadership positions in the United Nations and a number of INGOs in a range of conflict affected countries including Syria, oPt, East Timor and Mozambique.
As Regional Director for the Middle East and Eurasia with Save the Children International, Dr. Hearn oversaw humanitarian operations in 19 countries, including a half billion dollar Syria Regional Response. Dr. Hearn was also Country Director for UNRWA Syria, the largest humanitarian agency operating in the country before and during the early stages of the conflict.
He has previously worked as Regional Director for CARE International and a Senior Researcher with WHO.
Dr. Hearn has an interest in peacekeeping having worked for UNTAET in East Timor and from his Doctorate research on peacekeeping in Southern Africa.
Dr. Hearn is currently consulting and lecturing in humanitarian management in Copenhagen.
