PhD Project: Metacognitions in Childhood Anxiety
Advisor: Barbara Hoff Esbjørn
Paper 1 is a systematic review placing the metacognitive model of Generalized Anxiety disorder in a context of other Contextual Behavioral Thoeries: Acceptence and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and reviews the studies that have investigated the relation between anxiety and contexual behavioral mechanisms (e.g., metacogntions) in youth.
Papers 2 & 3 are original empirical studies investigating parenting behavior and beliefs about child anxiety as sources children may draw on to form their own anxiogenic metacognitions.
