Michael Gøtze is a Professor (Ph.D., LL.M., LL.B.) of Administrative Law. He was awarded the Ph.D.-degree in law in 1998 at the Faculty of Law and has since joined the faculty as a researcher and teacher. He is responsible for the faculty's teaching in Administrative Law. In addition to academia, he has worked within the civil service and the court system. He is a member of a number af European research networks and has contributed to the preparatory work within the Legal Affairs Committee under the European Parliament on the development and possible codification of a European Administrative Law Code. His research interests revolve aorund various control mechanisms.

His current research and teaching interests include Administrative Law, Public Law, Welfare Law, European Union Law and he is involved in research projects within the following topic:
• Transparency principle in public administration
• Proactive parliamentary ombudsmen in the EU
• The citizens' right to know their rights
• Administrative silence
• Digital freedom of expression within public administration
