Personal profile

Short presentation

I am a molecular systematist, biogeographer and evolutionary ecologist combining fieldwork with lab work. I am fascinated by life on Earth and my research focuses on (corvoid) passerine birds in the Indo-Pacific island region and beyond. I strive to answer questions pertaining to origin, dispersal, differentiation, adaptation and persistence and ultimately what shaped the contemporary diversity and distribution of birds. My work focuses on both the largest and smallest spatio-temporal scales and draws on new sequencing and tracking technology.
