Short presentation

My PhD research focuses on the global-local interonnections through which multilateral conservation programmes and associated discourses influence land-use and livelihood dynamics in the Global South, particularly in the context of protected area governance in Southeast Asia. I employ a telecoupling approach to examine the cross-scale linkages and networks involved in directing conservation-related flows, and their impacts in decision-making on smallholder farmers at local scales. The PhD project is part of COUPLED. Other research interests include political ecology perspectives on integrated conservation and development approaches.
