The role of the Christian churches in international diplomacy during the Cold War is the focus of my present research project. Particularly, I am investigating the contribution of the World Council of Churches to European détente in the period 1945-1975. The Carlsberg Foundation funds the research project and I expect to publish a few articles in English and Danish in scientific journals in 2017.
In May 2016, Routledge published my book, The Trilateral Commission and Global Governance. Informal Elite Diplomacy, 1972-1982, the first historical study of the Commission based on unpublished, primary sources from its archives. The book is about the creation and development of the Commission and its significance for how we understand contemporary governance and diplomacy. My research took place as part of the collective research-project: "An epoch-making decade: 'The long 1970's' and European-transatlantic transformation processes in political culture, discourse and power," headed by professor Poul Villaume. In 2013, I was awarded the PhD degree for my work on the Commission's history.
