Helle Vogt is currently responsible for the instruction of legal history, including:

  • Comparative law
  • Roman law
  • Danish legal history
  • Western constitutionalisation

Helle has been teaching in both Danish and European legal history at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen from 2002.

Helle Vogt can offer expertise and supervision in Danish and European legal history from Roman Law untill today, and in Islamic legal culture.

Primary fields of research

Helle Vogt's research areas concerns danish and nordic legal history from the medieval period to modern times with a special focus on:

  • The influence of religion on the conception of law
  • The influence of foreign law
  • Law of wills and succession  - including cultures of donation, kinship and control over property transactions
  • Punishment
  • The cultural history of law
