Short presentation

My research focuses on film and media production, particularly screenwriting and creative collaboration. I also study broader issues related to Danish/Nordic cinema and drama series, among them questions of industry structures, of practitioners’ agency and authorship and of cultural and film policy.

From September 2019 until February 2023 I am the Principal Investigator of the research project Reaching Young Audiences: Serial fiction and cross-media storyworlds for children and young audiences supported by Independent Research Fund Denmark.

  • 2015-2017 Founder and chair of Nordmedia's Division 10: Television and Film Studies (for the Nordmedia conferences in Copenhagen in 2015 and in Helsinki in 2017)
  • 2011-2016 Founder and Head of the research priority area Creative Media Industries (CMI) 
  • 2010         Organizer of the annual Screenwriting Research Conference (SRN)

Current research

Possible conflicts of interest

I have been a film critic for the daily Danish newspaper Information since 1999 and I regularly do presentations and occasionally preprare reports for the national and international film and television industries. I am a board member of The Danish Film Institute, The Association of Danish Film Critics and Carl Th. Dreyers Mindefond and I am a member of the Adjudication Committee for The Nordic Council Film Prize.
