                   Born 6. April 1964 in Gram, Southern Jutland, Denmark (Danish citizen). Married and have a 9-year old daughter. Live in Brønshøj, Denmark.

1995            Ph.D. in Botany, Dept. of Systematic Botany, University of Aarhus, April 1995. Ph.D. thesis: Phylogeny, taxonomy, and evolution of the genus Lathyrus (Fabaceae).  Including a 15 months stay inDr. Aaron Liston’s molecular-systematics lab, Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon, USA, July 1993 - July 1994, November 1994 – January 1995. Supervisors: Professor Kai Larsen, Professor Susanne Renner and Associate professor, Anders Barfod.

Short presentation

Conny Bruun Asmussen Lange er uddannet biolog i 1992 fra Aarhus Universitet og blev i 1995 tildelt sin ph.d.-grad samme sted. Conny har koordineret større internationale samarbejdsprojekter, har været sektionsleder for Botanik, og er i dag leder af forskergruppen Plantesystematik http://plen.ku.dk/english/research/organismal_biology/plant_systematics/ , og leder af Landbohøjskolens herbarium http://plen.ku.dk/samlinger/herbariet/ . Conny har vejledt 20 bachelor- og specialeprojekter, 2 ph.d.-projekter og 2 post. docs. Undervisningsporteføljen dækker områderne: plantesystematik, plantebestemmelse, planters diversitet, navngivning af planter, samt molekylære metoder i plantevidenskab. Conny er primus motor på Virtuel Flora http://plen.ku.dk/samlinger/virtuel-flora/ , et undervisningsredskab i plantesystematik. Conny har arbejdet i USA og England i sammenlagt fem år, og har siden år 2000 været lektor i botanik på Institut for Plante- og Miljøvidenskab på Københavns Universitet.

Short presentation

Conny Bruun Asmussen Lange received her MSc degree in biology in 1992 from University of Aarhus and was in 1995 granted her Ph.D. degree also from University of Aarhus. Conny has coordinated larger international collaborative projects, has been head of the Botany Section, is currently head of the research group in Plant Systematics http://plen.ku.dk/english/research/organismal_biology/plant_systematics/ , and head of the Herbarium of the former Agricultural University http://plen.ku.dk/samlinger/herbariet/ . Conny has supervised 20 bachelor- and master- projects, two Ph.D.-projects and two post. doc.s. The teaching portefolio includes Plant Systematics, plant determination, Diversity of Plants, nomenclature of plants and molecular methods in plant science. Conny is heading the Virtual Flora http://plen.ku.dk/samlinger/virtuel-flora/ , an online teaching tool in plant systematics. Conny has worked in the US and England for altogether five years and has since 2000 been associate professor in botany at Department of Plant- and Environmental Sciences at University of Copenhagen.
