Jeg forsker i den moderne persiske litteratur fra dens tidlige begyndelse omkring år 1900 frem til i dag. Min seneste publikation er The Rise of the Persian Novel - From the Constitutional Revolution to Rezâ Shâh, 1909-1927, Harrassowitz, 2016.
Ved siden af litteraturen beskæftiger jeg med med det moderne persiske sprog og skriver en elektronisk dansk-persisk ordbog i samarbejde med Gyldendal
