My research focuses on the dynamics between conscious and non-conscious mechanisms in working memory and executive functions, e.g. strategy deployment, decision-making, goal pursuit and conflict adaptation. More so, I am interested in the neural and psychological mechanisms supporting learning (i.e. data encoding, storing, retrieving and restructuring), as well as the deployment of implicitly and explicitly acquired knowledge.
I prioritize a multi-disciplinary, systemic approach that integrates cognitive, neurobiological, neurological, and psychological perspectives. Hence, my interest is oriented toward four main focuses of analysis: (a) cognitive processing, b) neural circuits and networks interactions, (c) individual mental representations (both explicitly and implicitly experienced) and d) psychological impact that the above-mentioned factors play on the individual in healthy as well as in pathological conditions.
