Thematically, my academic work can be divided into the following areas: ‘European integration and Industrial relations’, ‘Industrial Relations in Denmark’, ‘Labour market organisations (Trade Unions and employer’s associations)’, ‘Social Stratification’ and ‘Medical sociology’. I have since the beginning of the 1990’ies and continuously worked with the field of industrial and employment relations in Denmark and in Europe. I have contributed to the national and international discussions about industrial relations in Denmark (and more generally about industrial relations). I have focused on analyzing the development of a European system of industrial relations and are interested in the theoretical developments of theories relating to European integration. Within the overall field of industrial relations I have worked extensively with the organisation characteristics and developments in relation to trade unions and employer’s associations. These organisations form very often the cornerstones of the national and international systems of industrial relations. During the past three to four years I have also worked more intensively within the area of social stratification. This is partly related to my interest in labour market developments and the connection between labour market developments and societal stratification. I currently am working on a research project within the field of medical sociology. I am participating in a research project about ‘antibiotics and development of antibiotic resistance’. The research project is called UC-CARE (University of Copenhagen research Center for Control of Antibiotic Resistance – www.uc-care.ku.dk/ ) and is a cross disciplinary research excellence project at University of Copenhagen. I am especially working with the governmental aspects of antibiotic use (Especially national and international regulation, e.g. in EU). I use both quantitative and qualitative methods in my research.
