Anne Madsbjerg

Anne Madsbjerg, Ph.D. Fellow at Section for Landscape Architecture and Planning, University of Copenhagen. Holds a degree from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture and has eight years of national- and international work experience from well-known architecture and landscape architecture firms. She works in the interdisciplinary cross-field between urban planning, landscape architecture and ethnography. Human needs and human experiences of urban environments are at the core of her research. Studies the phenomenon of permaculture community gardens in Copenhagen and Seattle, including the value of direct engagement with urban nature. It seems that connecting with urban nature can engender a sense of resonance and belonging as an antidote to alienation.
