Primary fields of research

Alexandra Brandt Ryborg Jønsson is a social anthropologist working within the fields of medicine, public health and social sciences. Dr. Jønsson has a PhD in public health and works as a postdoc at the Section for General Medicine, Univerisity of Copenhagen. Her core methodological competences lies within ethnographic research and merging the fields of art and science. 

Her research is focused on the patient experiences of aging and multimorbidity with a particular focus on severe mental illnesses. She is also doing research in health inequality and inequity and overdiagnosis. Dr. Jønsson is head of the workpackage co-designing the intervention in The Phy Psy Trial.  

Dr Jønsson has published in international peer reviewed journals, academic books and won several prices for her research and research presentations. She is often invited nationally and internationally as keynote speaker, presenter or moderator. 

Dr. Jønsson teaches qualitative methods, social science theories and patient engagement and communication.
