Personal profile

Short presentation

Trained in agriculture, biochemistry and nutrition and finally a D.Phil. in physiology, my expertise is broad. My main research interest has been muscle, first at the level of porcine muscle development, later with isolated rat muscle contraction, and recently with clinical studies of muscle weakness in renal failure patients. However, my research also covers intestinal function and factors affecting motility, bone density and nutrient interactions as well as palaeo-biomedicine and ancient analgesics.
