Urban noise and strategies of silencing: two case studies on acoustic territoriality

  • Jacob Kreutzfeldt (Lecturer)

Activity: Talk or presentation typesLecture and oral contribution

Description

In this presentation I will discuss the concept of acoustic territoriality based on two case studies I have conducted: one in Copenhagen and one in Osaka. The first one is an attempt at mapping sonic experience, while the other one is an attempt at mapping sonic practice. From the registrations I try to flesh out some useful distinctions when dealing with aspects of noise, sociality, inclusion and exclusion in urban contexts.
