Description

Starting from mid-November until Christmas, I had the pleasure of visiting Harry Gilbert's lab at the University in Newcastle. This secondment was both enjoyable and fruitful. I overexpressed, purified and characterised 3 recombinant proteins from Bacteroide thetaiotaomicron. I gained experience in techniques including ITC measurements, ligand affinity electrophoresis, enzyme kinetics and in methods for crystallization.
