Political Psychology and European Studies - Thursday 30 September 2014, University of Copenhagen: The past years have witnessed a growing integration of the disciplines of psychology and political science. Consequently, we have gained more insights into what shapes political behavior and attitudes. Still these more general findings have not been integrated in the study of European politics. This workshop gathered a set of researchers all focusing on integrating the insights of political psychology to the study of EU attitudes and behavior. To our knowledge, this was the first attempt to gather the sporadic research conducted within this interdisciplinary juncture. The majority of the papers presented at the workshop were empirical investigations of the impact of psychology on, for example, the outcome of the 2014 European Parliament Election or the 2014 Danish referendum on the Patent Court, though some also addressed broader phenomena like Euroscepticism or attitudes towards the welfare state.
