Description
Associate Professor Christine Isager will present her ongoing studies of gonzo journalism in a transnational perspective, more specifically what "gonzo" means in relation to literary journalism in Denmark and other parts of the world after the genre label has detached itself from the specific work and persona of Hunter S. Thompson (USA, 1937-2005).
Associate Professor Miklos Sukosd will give a presentation on the newspaper "The Hungarian Orange", an influential liberal weekly that used a Gonzo language. The first part of the talk will introduce the press/media in the post-communist condition to show the role and opportunities of Gonzo after the stone language of communism dissolved.
This lunch seminar is arranged by the focus areas Creative Media Industries and Journalism Studies - Crossing Boundaries
