Description
The conference marked the beginning of the UCPH 2016 project “Global genes, local concerns”. The project involves the collection of biological samples in the US, Pakistan and through an international patient organization. It identifies and links mutated genes to diseases, studies donor motivation and stakeholders’ attitudes and concerns, and analyses legal and commercialization issues to establish guidelines for optimizing cross-national biobanking. At the conference the project will be presented and two internationally renowned scholars will lead the discussion of some of biobanking’s most vexing issues.
