Exploring Anti-Urbanism in Caldecott Prize Winning Picture books: 1938-70

Activity: Talk or presentation typesLecture and oral contribution

Description

Conference paper

This paper looks at the imagery of prizewinning American children's picture books from 1938 to 1970. I argue that the imagery employed during the sample period was overwhelmingly anti-urban and anti-modern in character.
