title = "The New Ostpolitik and 'Real Existing Socialism': The Image of the Two Germanys in Scandinavian Political Discourse and Culture after 1969",
abstract = "Taking as its point of departure the shifting dynamics of the two Germanys in the 1970s, this chapter aims to examine how the international acceptance of two separate and independent German states affected Scandinavian views of Germany{\textquoteright}s position. The questions to be dealt with are these: how were the new roles of the two Germanys perceived by Scandinavians? What were the repercussions of the new situation? And how was the so-called {\textquoteleft}German question{\textquoteright} (the de facto and de jure partition of Germany) viewed? The chapter broaches the topic from a Scandinavian perspective with a particular focus on Denmark.",
