Personlighedsforstyrrelser

Abstract

Most clinicians are very reluctant to diagnose personality disorders. They lack clinical experience and need reliable diagnostic tools. Our current knowledge of the biological mechanism and the role of childhood experience is still scarce. Personality disorders have a better outcome - partly because more evidenced-based treatment programmes have become available. Specialized training programmes for young researchers as well as educational activities devoted to training all staff involved in the treatment of severe personality disorders need to be established.
