Abstract
The conviction that forgiveness has an important and valuable role to play in the aftermath of atrocities has gained a considerable momentum in the present day. Brudholm revisits Cynthia Ozick's provocative attack on forgiveness and presents five reasons why her claim - that the face of forgiveness can be "stony to the slaughtered" - is a challenge that needs to be taken seriously.
