Abstract
This article discusses the word and place-name element stilund found in the Danish Island of Lolland. It is contextually documentated form the 16th and 17th centuries that the word, and hence the place-name element, presumably means 'Little Wood where timber is produced for Sticks, rods, poles and the like'.
