Lyc. Pẽmudija (N322.2): Anatolian Onomastics and IE word formation

Matilde Serangeli

Abstract

The present paper deals with the etymology of Lyc. PN Pẽmudija (N322.2), which may be related to Lyc. PN Punamuwe and may therefore fit a well-attested Anatolian pattern of possessive compounds with a first element pana°/puna° and a second element °muwa- ‘might, power’ and its derivatives.
