Abstract
Fisheye interfaces give access to a large information structure
by providing users with both local detail and global context. Despite
decades of research in fisheye interfaces, their design and use are not well
understood. To foster a discussion of fisheye views and their theoretical
foundations, we identify five challenging areas in designing fisheye
interfaces.
