Abstract

Baseret på de to seniorforfatteres mangeårige feltarbejde og ved hjælp af GIS-analyser beskrives og kortlægges de 15 vigtigste naturlige vegetationstyper i Etiopien. Vegetationstypernes struktur og floristiske sammensætning beskrives og illustreres med udvalgte fotografier fra forskellige dele af landet. Een del af bogen udgøres af et atlas med 29 kortblade og et blad med signaturforklaringer; dette atlas viser de 15 naturlige vegetationstypers potentielle udbredelse. Bogen redegør også for forholdet mellem den nye vegetationsklassifikation og de to tidligere, også med tilhørende vegetationskort, publiceret af henholdsvis R.E.G. Pichi Sermolli i 1957 og Frank White i 1983.
