N2 - We describe a new two dimensional electrophoresis technique which is based on the combination of cryostat section technology and IEF- and SDS-gel electrophoresis. The optimal conditions for two dimensional cryostat section electrophoresis are investigated. The application of this technique to synovial membranes of patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis is described.
