Her PhD project deals with theorizing ideology; the ideology of the international liberal order after 1989, and the current opposition to that ideology from the national and far Right. The PhD project is funded by the Danish Velux Foundation and the Norwegian Ministry of Defence. The Velux funding comes from a project at DIIS led by Vibeke Tjalve on the "World of the Right", with project partners JF Drolet (Queen Mary) and Michael C. Williams (University of Ottawa). At NUPI she leads a three-year research project financed by the Ministry of Defence on challenges to the international liberal order by the national right in Russia, Europe and the US.

Holm is based in Oslo at NUPI, but commutes to Copenhagen. Her supervisor is Professor Ole Wæver. For an updated publication list, including a monthly column on international affairs, please visit her personal webpage.
