Kort præsentation
Matteo has joined the Centre for European and Comparative Legal Studies (CECS) at the Faculty of Law to work on his PhD thesis entitled ‘Posting of workers in EU law: Challenges of equality, solidarity and fair competition’, supervised by Professor Ulla Neergaard.
The object of the PhD thesis is to provide, at first, an in-depth analysis of the evolving, multifaceted and intensely debated phenomenon of transnational posting of workers. The latter is investigated in both its quantitative dimension and its relevant EU regulatory framework. Afterwards, following the recent adoption of the Directive (EU) 957/2018 amending the Posting of Workers Directive 96/71/EC, the new integrationist approach undertaken by the EU legislator with the establishment of the principle of ‘the same pay for the same work at the same workplace’ for posted and local workers is evaluated in light of the EU values of equality and solidarity and the principle of fair competition.
Matteo graduated in Law (Master's Degree) in 2013 at the University of Turin (Italy), orienting his academic career mainly towards the field of European Union Law, with a Master´s thesis titled ‘Freedom of Movement for Services and Gambling’. Between 2013 and 2015 he accomplished the lawyer apprenticeship in the Law Firm ´Studio Legale Bruno Mellano´, in Cuneo (Italy), and in 2014 he carried out an Internship at the Centre of International and European Economic Law (CIEEL) in Thessaloniki (Greece).
