My research is situated in the cross-field between urban and development geography. My research interests revolve around urban transformations and city dynamics in the context of developing countries. Given the scale and pace of on-going urban transformations, particularly in Africa and Asia, research into this can provide crucial insights with implications for urban policymakers and planners confronting the formidable challenge of fostering inclusive, resilient and sustainable urban development. My research engages with a wide range of pressing urban issues, including informal housing, unplanned urban expansion, urban land investments, residential mobility, daily mobility, transport systems, climate change resilience and infrastructure development. I have research experience from Tanzania, Bangladesh and Ghana.
