My research is interdisciplinary. Frequently, I look at how we think about the brain in relationship to the human body. A considerable focus of recent work has been on the making of neuroscience (and its re-making) as well as on the public discussions about neuroscience's various uses and meanings. However, I have also conducted research at the intersection of materiality, politics, and rhetoric more generally; I am interested in expanding rhetorical theory through thinking about neuroscience and our encounters with objects in the world.

In terms of field areas, my work generally draws from rhetoric, science & technology studies, and the public understanding of science.
