Beskrivelse

This session will draw upon experience of earlier collaborative teaching in order to discuss a possible model. Different elements of collaboration include: (1) a common syllabus, (2) shared in-person teaching, (3) shared remote teaching, (4) students meeting in person, and (5) students meeting remotely. the five elements have played their part in different ways in three collaborations in which NUS and Copenhagen have been involved. A joint summer school between both students and teachers together outside normal semester time. A "masterclass" organised by Copenhagen on Islam has brought students together during the semester, and involved some shared teaching. and finally, NUS and Yale have brought students and teachers by video conference and electronic forum for a module on religion in the modern world. All three modules are currently ongoing, and all three have both strenghts and drawbacks. the session will try to identify (1) some of the essentials for collaborative success and (2) a topci for the future.
