Beskrivelse
Case-workshop with Jim Erskine Teachers and researchers at all the 9 universities and högskolor within the Øresund University are invited to participate in a workshop about teaching with cases. Leader of the workshop will be Professor Jim Erskine, Ivey Business School who is a legendary teacher of dozens of such courses all over the world. Case methodology is a teaching method which above all trains the students to analyse and make decisions in realistic situations. This way case based teaching is also a realistic way of training the students for their work life after their final exams. Case based teaching often takes its starting point in small or medium sized organisations and is used in economic as well as in technical fields. By using this teaching method the students are trained to make interdisciplinary assessment, to collaborate, and to apply the knowledge and competencies they obtain through their studies. We welcome and urge teachers and researchers from a variety of fields to seize this unique opportunity to learn how to write and teach with cases. The workshop falls in two parts: 1.Case based teaching: Two day workshop in which you learn how to teach with cases by actually doing it yourself guided by Jim Erskine. This will give you a good insight in how the students experience this way of teaching and how you as a teacher best teach course objectives, etc. 2.How to write cases:A one day introduction to how to write your own case in accordance with the learning needs of your students. This will be followed up by a voluntary session in the autumn 2010 where the participants present and debate the small case synopses they have written. Feedback will be given. Please note that you can register for one or both parts. When registering please indicate which parts you wish to participate in.Periode | 8 jun. 2010 → 10 jun. 2010 |
