The project involves a student mapping and acquiring reflection GPR data in a Finnish Palaeoproterozoic basin, the Tampere schist belt. The basin contains suflide-rich deposits which are none commercial. However, the team composed of the Henrik Kalliomäki (MSc Student at the university of Helsinki), Taija Torvela (Lecturer at the University of Leeds), Yka Kahkonen (Professor at the University of Helsinki) and myself intend to test advanced structural geology concepts and near-surface geophysics to predict the occurences of sulfide-rich schists.
