Myth and Other Norms in World Society: The 'Thule-case' – a Case of Sociology of World Law?

Hanne Petersen

Abstract

This article uses the Thule Case at the Danish Supreme Court as an example of normativity in world society. Here norms, which may turn out to be important in world society could be myths of several kinds such as 'narrative normativity'. One myth may be that of (exclusive) sovereignty as in the Greenlandic context.
